Amazon, FedEx, and UPS reveal how protests are impacting deliveries across the US
Protests across the US are causing delays and disruptions in deliveries of packages and food.
Uber said it suspended rides and UberEats operations in certain cities over the weekend at the request of local officials. Postmates and DoorDash said they are abiding by curfews across the country. Delivery companies are re-routing drivers around protests, cutting off deliveries after local curfews, and scaling back operations in response to the protests.
"We are reaching out directly to customers whose shipments are affected, and working with local law enforcement in those areas as we assess the damage," the spokesperson told Business Insider. "FedEx continues to operate in areas where we are able to do so safely. We are taking the proper precautions to help ensure team members stay safe, and have contingency plans in place to lessen any possible impact on service.
But some delivery services are now limiting operations as officials in cities across the US implement curfews — some as early as 5 p.m. — to try and inhibit evening protests.
