AMC Entertainment, the largest movie theater chain in the U.S., announced Thursday that its theaters are now scheduled to reopen in mid to late August, pushing back its planned July reopening as the pandemic delays release dates for blockbuster films despite the heavy financial toll of remaining closed amid ongoing Covid-19-related lockdowns.... [+]AMC was previously scheduled to reopen many theaters on July 30, after repeatedly pushing back the date.
The theater company said in a statement that the new reopening date “reflects currently expected release dates for much anticipated blockbusters like Warner Bros.'
