Elise, from New England, US, has raked in over three million likes on TikTok, where she shares her UK life since moving across the pond. And recently she discussed the work culture
An American lady residing in the UK revealed her extensive adjustment to the distinct work environment.
As per Foothold America, a group specialised in business growth, there is no guaranteed paid holiday for US labourers. Most American companies do provide paid vacation, but the ordinary worker obtains around 10 days on average each year. For additional annual leaves, workers need to accrue them, which normally involves at least a year of service in the company.
Notably, she was taken aback by the drinking culture among colleagues in the UK. Elise admitted it makes her "a little uncomfy". She added: "Here, you drink a lot more with your coworkers than I think you do in the US. You might always go out for drinks."
