Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso insists Leeds United transfer target Nadiem Amiri is in his latest matchday squad. The Whites have reportedly agreed a £5 million fee to sign the 26-year-old, with the attacking midfielder said to be set to sign a four-year deal at Elland Road.
Asked for an update on Amiri's future, the Liverpool legend told Sky Sports in Germany: "Nadiem Amiri is in the squad against Borussia Monchengladbach." The update provides the latest twist regarding Amiri, with the Germany international said to have 'cooled' on a move to the Ligue 1 side in light of the approach from United.
