A local relief effort is underway to help bring food and supplies to Maui residents after one of the deadliest wildfires in recent history swept across part of the island. Here's how to help:

The search of the wildfire wreckage on the Hawaiian island of Maui on Thursday revealed a wasteland of burned out homes and obliterated communities as firefighters battled the stubborn blaze making it the deadliest in the U.S. in recent years.
“We’re asking the community to come out and donate clothes for all the kids and families that live on Lahaina and lost their homes: clothes, toiletries, sleeping bags, pillows, any nonperishable food items, water. They need lots of water,” she said. The addresses for the two locations are 1142 N. Muldoon Road, No. 115 in Anchorage, and 1171 E. Palmer-Wasilla Highway, Suite 1A in Wasilla. Both shops are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday.
