Andre Iguodala was listed Thursday as questionable on the Warriors’ injury report, though Kerr said he won’t play in Friday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.
ATLANTA — Forward Andre Iguodala is “getting closer” to being cleared to play and could make his return to the court this weekend, coach Steve Kerr said Friday.
The Warriors are playing it extra safe with Iguodala, who has missed 19 consecutive games due to tightness in his lower back and has played less than six minutes since Jan. 21. The belief had always been that he would be ready to play come the postseason. “He’s taking part in every practice and helping with every game plan and mentoring our guys behind the scenes,” Kerr said after the team’s shootaround at State Farm Arena. The training staff wants “to make sure we handle everything with caution and they don’t feel he’s quite ready.”
