Andrew Garfield admits he lied to Emma Stone about his Spider-Man: No Way Home role and reveals her reaction to seeing him in the movie. Garfield was the second major star to carry a webslinging franchise in Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man movies following the departures of Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire from their original Spider-Man series. Stone starred in Garfield's movies as his love interest and classmate Gwen Stacy, though would meet her demise in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
"Emma kept on texting me and was like, 'Are you in this new Spider-Man film?' and I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' [Laughs] She was like, 'Shut up, just tell me.' I was like, 'I honestly don't know,' I couldn't even tell her, it was hilarious. And then she saw it and was like, 'You're a jerk.' [Laughs] I didn't want to tell anyone, I took it super seriously, I told no one.
