Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! We have passed into another dimension in politics, one much darker and sinister. It seems the overriding concern is now revenge, above what’s the common good, above the law, above what’s logical, above respect for alternate views, above everything. Wayne Richard is launching a primary challenge to Rep. Matt Shaheen, R-Plano, because Richard says “we need to ... battle for our values and the morals that we have.” But Richard’s primary motivation for challenging Shaheen seems to be his desire to defend Ken Paxton, an alleged adulterer who has been credibly accused of accepting bribes, obstruction of justice, abuse of office and securities fraud.
