A grouchy-looking tortoise was rescued from a Christmas Day fire of his own making in the United Kingdom.
The 45-year-old reptile, who lives in the city of Essex, accidentally started a small house fire by knocking a heat lamp on his bedding Wednesday morning, according to the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service. After neighbors heard a smoke alarm and contacted authorities, firefighters found the flame in one room and extinguished it, only to find the shelled suspect in its midst.
