Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is nearing a very negative record, with it almost beating Eternals as the lowest rated MCU movie on Rotten Tomatoes.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is close to hitting a negative Marvel Cinematic Universe milestone: becoming the lowest rated MCU movie on Rotten Tomatoes. The Paul Rudd-starrer shares the bottom of the MCU with the extremely divisive Eternals, according to popular review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. However, the recently premiered Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has failed to endear itself to critics and is close to taking Eternals' spot.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY On Rotten Tomatoes, at the time of writing, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has a 48 percent score — one above Eternals, which finalized at 47 percent. Those scores meant both movie secured the website's "rotten" label, which is given to a film with generally unfavorable reviews.
A kind of MCU fatigue has set in following a very bumpy Phase 4. While most reviews saw the MCU in a positive light in the past, Phase 4 has featured a slew of divisive movies and TV shows that have perhaps turned the tide against the franchise somewhat. Eternals was the first major MCU release to get predominantly bad reviews and that movie shares a key aspect with the new Ant-Man: dialogue filled with exposition.
Majors excels as Kang, however, his story relies too much on exposition and telling the audience rather than showing. Still, even with some faults, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an enjoyable movie, which is reflected in its 84 percent audience score. While not among the best the MCU has to offer, it is nowhere as bad as Thor: The Dark World and should not prove as divisive as Eternals has among the MCU viewers.
