A judge says Apple must comply with this ruling as soon as December 9

in its lawsuit with Epic Games, but that 10th count? That may start to cause some trouble for the tech giant.

The count Apple lost in the Epic case was that they could no longer tell developers they couldn’t offer or link to alternate payment options within their games or apps. The judge ruled that was an overreach, and while Apple has tried to get a stay on this decision, the judge has now rejected that, and has said Apple must comply with this ruling as soon as December 9.

It’s an interesting change, because this is essentially what Fortnite did to get thrown off the App Store in the first place to trigger this lawsuit. Epic offered a payment system within Fortnite that paid them directly to go around Apple’s 30% cut, and as such, they made it cost around 20% less. Obviously everyone would chose to buy the cheaper package, and not go through Apple.
