The government has an interactive map that reveals the locations in Nottinghamshire which are the most at risk of flooding
We can all agree that we haven’t had much of a summer this year as the rain has showered down non-stop. This rain unfortunately came with a number of flood risks.
, with new data ensuring the map is constantly updated. We decided to take a look at this and see just where in Nottinghamshire is the most at risk from potential floods.Starting in the south of the county in East Leake, we can see there are areas in the village that are coloured "high" for the extent of flooding from rivers and the sea. Situated near the village is the Kingston Brook which runs into the River Soar.
Also in the high-risk zone are parts of Toton, Chilwell, and Beeston as the River Trent runs through the Attenborough nature reserve and heads towards Wilford and West Bridgford. This area includes parts of Colwick and Adbolton, more specifically Colwick County Park, Holme Pierrepont, and Colwick Industrial Estate. This continues into Radcliffe on Trent and Stoke Bardolf, where big parts of the villages which are closest to the River Trent have the most risk.
