An Arkansas woman arrested after her 6-year-old son was found dead under the floorboards of their home appeared in court Monday.
An Arkansas woman and man have been arrested after authorities discovered the possibly months-old body of a 6-year-old boy beneath the floorboards of his home last week., where they were ordered to be held without bond.
The pair are charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a minor. Rolland's St. Francis County jail booking image, taken Monday morning, pictured her with two black eyes. Rolland's 6-year-old daughter was also found in the in the Lee county home, about 85 miles east of Little Rock, and was transported to a hospital with what police believe were burns to her scalp. She was reported to be in stable condition, the police departmentPolice say they believe the boy — whose body was discovered late Friday by deputies who contacted the Arkansas State Police — possibly died around three months ago from injuries sustained in the home.
Bill Sadler, the public information officer for Arkansas State Police, declined USA Today's request for comment Tuesday.
