Police are looking for Ring doorbell footage in the hope someone managed to capture the act
A house in fire in Blackpool was started after a person posted a lit piece of paper through the letterbox.
The reported arsonist acted in the early hours of Sunday morning. The residents of the house on Harcourt Road were awoken to the smell of burning. Around 2am that morning, the fire was caused by someone reportedly pushing lit paper through the letterbox. Police say the occupants of the house were able to put out the fire.An investigation is underway to identify the offenders. Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with CCTV, dashcam or Ring doorbell footage to get in touch
Detective Con Wayne Marshall, of Blackpool CID, said: “This incident could so easily have resulted in tragedy, and we are treating it extremely seriously. I would urge anyone who has any information or footage which could help us identify those responsible to get in touch.”
