As gas prices soar, Hoosiers are turning their attention to the tax paid at the pump. For every gallon of gas bought in Indiana, 56 cents is tax. Where do those tax dollars go?
With a $.32 excise tax and a $.24 sales tax, Hoosiers are feeling the pain at the pump.
Of that cost, $.56 of the price are the taxes. The big question is where are your taxpayer dollars going? His office referred WRTV to INDOT, who at the time of this web article had not resounded to our request.
