With two games remaining in the season, the Brahmas need a pair of wins and two Arlington losses to force a tiebreaker for playoff position.
As the start of the 2023 XFL season was approaching, San Antonio Brahmas coach Hines Ward set three primary goals. So are the playoffs. At 2-6 with two games remaining in the regular season, San Antonio needs to win out and have the Arlington Renegades drop their two remaining contests, putting the Brahmas in position just to potentially reach the playoffs on a strength of victory tiebreaker.
“This year has definitely been a learning lesson. I hope these guys continue to fight and continue to battle like we have been all season,” Ward said. “We just have to find good teaching moments, just to stay in the fight.” While Ward said he hasn’t talked to the team about the playoffs this week given San Antonio’s slim chances of advancing, the possibility remains in the back of the Brahmas’ minds.
The final two weeks can be the difference between earning an NFL opportunity and going home, Patrick said, and he’s been putting his best foot forward down the stretch.
