It comes after some shoppers said they were concerned that their pictures were being stored
It comes after concerned customers debated whether the devices were used to store personal data and use it for targeted advertising. The cameras, which are used in Asda stores across the UK, show people a real-time image of themselves while they scan their shopping.
The retailer has firmly denied the claims and now one of its security guards has waded in to explain what the cameras are actually for, North Wales Live reports. Posting on Bristol Live's Facebook, he said their main use was to spot theft and fraud.
