Birmingham Live reports that ASOS actually stands for As Seen On Screen - nothing to do with who invented the site or anything else sentimental. From there, people began referring to the company as As Seen On Screen and in 2000, that was what they officially became known as. Now, the clothing giant is used by thousands of customers.
ASOS also owns Topshop - with the clothes only available exclusively on the website after the high street store went into administration in 2020.
