Assassin's Creed Mirage explains how its progression is 'linear and story-driven.'
Ubisoft has dropped a new look at the development of Assassin's Creed Mirage with a focus on its protagonist, Basim, and his"evolution... to Master Assassin.", including the fact that there won't be"XP-based progression," but rather that progression is"linear and story-driven."Creative director Stéphane Boudon explains,"The story of Mirage follows Basim’s evolution from apprentice to mentor, a journey that’s reflected in the game’s systems.
Game designer Alexandre Rosset adds,"We have new tools that can be upgraded and customised for Basim, giving him a deadly and effective Assassin toolset. When fully upgraded, these tools can allow for some interesting and unexpected gameplay strategies." Ubisoft has hinted several times that it's bringing back fan-favorite aspects from earlier Assassin's Creed games, such as
, and it seems another"fan-favorite feature" making a return is outfit dye,"which you can use to change the colors of certain outfits, just like you could in AC2 or Brotherhood," says artistic director Jean-Luc Sala. Overall, says narrative director Sarah Beaulieu, Basim was designed as a"fresh twist on the classic assassin archetype."
