Astros manager Dusty Baker passes Joe McCarthy in all-time MLB wins
The Astros’ 5-2 victory over the Angels on Thursday was career win No. 2,126 for Baker, who surpassed Hall of Famer Joe McCarthy for eighth place on MLB’s all-time managerial wins list.
“As long as I was staying alive, I knew it was inevitable,” Baker said. “It feels good to get it out of the way, but it feels even more important toand us to pick up a half a game on the idle Rangers tonight and to get back on the winning trail here at home.” Baker, who is in his 26th season as a manager and his fourth in Houston, is one of just 12 MLB managers with at least 2,000 wins.More Astros News
