Danny is Angelo’s Pizzeria owner Danny DiGiampietro, who caused a stir with an Instagram story before Game 3 of the Astros-Phillies World Series on Tuesday. DiGiampietro keeps the restaurant’s customers entertained by usingand everyone at his place rolling out bread at 4 a.m. Part of that Instagram story went viral Tuesday when people started messaging him asking if he was cooking for the Astros.
Thus, the apprehension when someone who obviously isn’t from South Philly wanders in and starts asking questions. DiGiampietro wants Astros fans to know one thing first and foremost: “I am certainly not apologizing.”The Astros reached out to his business over email before the World Series as they were attempting to set up postgame meals for each of the three games in Philadelphia. The Astros wanted to place an order with Angelo's Pizzeria for 10 pizzas to be delivered at 11 p.m. Wednesday near the end of Game 5.
