Astros' Evel Knievel Speedo Guy from 2017 championship parade, aka Ronnie Baker, returns for 2022
when fans tried to return a dropped baseball cap by throwing it back up the garage, one level at a time.
In 2017, Baker climbed a light pole wearing nothing but an Evel Knievel Speedo and an Astros’ World Series Champions baseball cap. He was celebrated at the parade and featured in a Houston Chronicle storyOn Monday, he donned the same bottoms —"Hey, they still fit!," he said about an hour after the parade had finished — a different cap and added an Astros orange Hulk glove. This time, he climbed a pole at the corner of Dallas and Smith and drew plenty of attention again.
"I told them I was going to do it again, just like in 2017 and they said, 'You better,' so they helped me get up there again," Baker said.
