At $93 million, Dabo Swinney becomes highest-paid coach in college football history
Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney signed a new, record-breaking 10-year, $93 million contract with the university after leading the Tigers to two of the past three college football national championships. This deal supersedes the 8-year $54 million contract he signed in 2017.
— Adam Schefter April 26, 2019 Swinney’s teams have gone 116-30 since 2008. Clemson’s last two championships were against Alabama, which is coached by future Hall of Famer Nick Saban, who was the highest paid coach in college football prior to Swinney signing his deal. — Michele Steele April 26, 2019 If Clemson would’ve given Dabo Swinney a $92-million contract instead of $93, the athletic department could’ve given every football player about $1,000 a month for the entire school year.
