The Atlantic City Airshow lineup includes the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds
Among the featured performers at the Aug. 16 event will U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier Demo Team, U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey Air National Guard, organizers said Thursday.The Thunderbirds’ return to the Jersey Shore will be highlighted by an appearance from the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
A practice day will be held on Aug. 15 before the main event the following day. Organizers said about 400,000 people took in at least part of last year’s show. While viewers can watch for free along the beach in Atlantic City an surrounding towns, a new ticket option is available this year to get spectators closer to the action.
Tickets for The Fly Zone are $25 for those 13 and older and $15 for children 6 to 12. Kids 5 and under are free. Prices for the practice day are $5 less. People who buy tickets to the fenced-in “Sky Zone” will have access to portable bathroom as well food/beverage vendors. Spectators in The Fly Zone can bring their own chairs, blankets/towels and umbrellas into this area, though tents and cabanas are not allowed. There will be no chair rentals available.
