New York AG Letitia James shut down websites that overcharged New Yorkers by pretending to be official government websites on Wednesday, naming the man allegedly responsible.

ordered two websites shut down for impersonating the official website of the New York State Department of State and"significantly overcharging" customers who used the services on the site.

"Misleading consumers is not a smart business plan, it’s unethical and illegal," James wrote in a statement."These websites deceived hardworking New Yorkers who were simply trying to open up their own business and file the necessary paperwork to do so.
