A police dog and her handler have become the first to win a dog trial competition three times in a "dream come true".The pair, who work for Avon and Somerset Police, have been together for the last five years.The trials, held between 20 and 24 May at the Police Scotland College in Tulliallan, involved multiple tests including tracking, searching, crowd control, finding a hidden suspect, agility, obedience and biting.
He said he took her home and worked with her gradually, eventually realising she was a very "clever dog". "We just hit it off," Sgt Darlymple said. "We're now best mates and I spend more time with her than I do with my wife."If you could have a dream come true, this is it," he added.
