The cops are part of the nationally accredited public order trained officers.
Public disorder broke out across England, Northern Ireland and Wales earlier this month following the tragic deaths of three youngsters in Southport.
He said: “Were any officers from Ayrshire Division sent to Northern Ireland following the recent riots and linked to that can you touch on what kind of training our local officers are getting in respect of public order issues. “We have a healthy contingent across Ayrshire and I am grateful for that as it is voluntary, not a requirement to take part in this training. It is consistently provided and we have to make sure they are available to do it every year which they do and give up their time.
