Barb Ellison, an ex-wife of Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and a longtime horse breeder, is putting her Oregon equestrian estate on the market for $19.5 million

Barb Ellison, an ex-wife of Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and a longtime horse breeder, got her first horse at 28. She built a roughly 200-acre horse farm in Oregon and moved there in 2011. Now 67, she is stepping back from day-to-day farm operations and putting her equestrian estate on the market for $19.5 million. “It’s just time,” she said.

Known as Wild Turkey Farm, the property sits on the Willamette River and includes a roughly 10,000-square-foot main house, a 2,500-square-foot manager’s residence, an indoor horse arena and training barn as well as several other horse barns, hay barns and sheds, according to marketing materials. The farm is currently home to around 90 horses, which aren’t included in the sale.

Properties this expensive aren’t common here. The farm is in Wilsonville, a city roughly 16 miles south of Portland near Willamette Valley wine country. Not far from Lake Oswego, it is in Clackamas County, where the median home sale price was $570,000 in June, up 24% from June 2020, according to Redfin.

Listing agent Kendra Ratcliff of LUXE Christie’s International Real Estate in Oregon said the riverfront community has several large estates, and prices in the luxury market are routinely in the $3 million to $5 million range and higher. Ms. Ratcliff said she recently sold a $10 million property south of Ms. Ellison’s farm, and she currently has a $38 million listing up the river.

Ms. Ellison was married to Mr. Ellison from 1983 to 1986. Property records show she purchased the farm for $2.995 million in 2001. She said she came across the property while attending a horse show at a neighboring farm. At the time, the entire property was a tree orchard, and over a 10-year period Ms. Ellison said she cleared the space and built the structures. “It’s a very tranquil place to live,” she said. “You are in your own little bubble here.
