Jonathan Chavez resigned from his job at Marin Catholic school over allegations of misconduct involving an altar server in Oakland.
A former Marin Catholic High School theology teacher has resigned amid allegations he sent inappropriate texts to a minor at an Oakland church.
According to information Marlow received from the Diocese of Oakland, the minor who allegedly received the texts from Chavez was an altar server at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Chavez was a lay volunteer at the church at the time, Marlow said. Marlow said he was not aware of any charges filed in the Oakland probe. The Oakland Police Department did not respond to requests for information on the investigation.
