Bayer animal-health buyout will need heavy petting edwardcropley
Private equity companies are gearing up to battle for Bayer’s animal medicines business, which could be worth as much as 8 billion euros, making it one of the largest buyouts since the financial crisis, the Financial Times reported on June 3.
The paper said London-based BC Partners was exploring a joint bid with either a rival buyout firm or a large pension or sovereign wealth fund. The FT also mentioned possible interest from CVC, Cinven and Permira.Bayer shares were up 1 percent at 53.32 euros by 1330 GMT on June 3.
