BBC Antiques Roadshow expert Andy McConnell previously opened up on his 'unmortgageable' and 'unfit for human habitation' home
Antiques Roadshow 's glass expert Andy McConnell has candidly shared his experience of splashing out £230,000 on a home that he deemed 'uninhabitable'. Andy, who joined the BBC programme in 2005 and is known for his extensive knowledge of glass, recently faced a daunting health diagnosis.
Speaking previously to This Is Money, Andy revealed, "I own my home, mortgage-free. It's a two-bed house right on the beach outside Rye." He recounted his property journey, saying, "I bought it four years ago for £230,000 and it's definitely gone up in value. It was a total fleapit when I bought it and unmortgageable.
Discussing the renovations, he added: "All I've done so far is install a new bathroom and new boiler but I'm planning a complete renovation."
