A four-day weather warning had been put in place
A weather forecaster has warned Nottingham could be hit with thunderstorms this week. Much of the UK is set to be hit with heavy rain and strong winds as Storm Babet arrives on our shores.
A four-day weather warning was in place for all Nottinghamshire by the Met office, but this was removed on the morning of Wednesday, October 18. However, according to BBC forecasters, we could be set for some thunderstorms. The broadcaster's prediction states storms could hit Nottingham between 1pm and 4pm on Thursday, October 19, with rain also expected during this time. While the Nottinghamshire weather warnings have been removed for this week, heavy rain is still expected to affect the county.
Friday, October 20, will be when the worst of the weather is expected, with rain forecast to fall throughout the day and temperatures hitting highs of 14C. On Thursday, light rain is also predicted for much of the day, with highs of 17C.
