The BBC has shaken-up the scheduling of two programmes after an embarrassing gaffe by Laura Kuenssberg saw her upcoming interview with Boris Johnson scrapped.
Her much-anticipated sit-down with the former Prime Minister was due to air in EastEnders' regular slot this evening, with the next episode of the soap pushed back to tomorrow instead.
It has been a busy week on the popular London-based soap with Cindy Beale and Junior Knight’s affair still in full swing. Fans are also anticipating the return of David Wicks in this week's final instalment. Kuenssberg branded her error last night as 'embarrassing and disappointing', and BBC bosses pulled the plug on the interview after describing the situation as 'untenable'.
Kuenssberg wrote: 'While prepping to interview Boris Johnson tomorrow, by mistake I sent our briefing notes to him in a message meant for my team.
