BBC Radio Merseyside's audience has dropped by 21% since 2021 as corporation faces backlash against changes
Eight BBC local radio stations have lost over a quarter of listeners in the last two years, according to the latest audience figures.
The average amount of time people spent listening to the station has increased, however. Listeners spent an average of 1.6 hours listening to BBC Radio Merseyside in the three months to September this year. That's equal to the 1.6 hours in the same period of 2021.Two years ago, the BBC published highly controversial plans to transform its local journalism services.
