reports that a lawyer representing the young person at the heart of this matter has called claims made by the mother "rubbish" and disputes the originalThe lawyer for this young person claims a denial was issued to thebefore the article's publication on Friday night, but that the "inappropriate article" was published anyway.The lawyer went on to insist "nothing inappropriate or unlawful has taken place between our client and the BBC personality".
"Their complaint was not acted upon by the BBC. We have seen evidence that supports their concerns. It's now for the BBC to properly investigate."over the allegations, but no formal police investigation into the matter is currently underway."Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command met with representatives from the BBC on the morning of Monday 10 July," the Met's statement read. "The meeting took place virtually.
"They are assessing the information discussed at the meeting and further enquiries are taking place to establish whether there is evidence of a criminal offence being committed.Prior to the meeting, the BBC released a statement to announce it would be cooperating with police over “new information” that had come to light in the matter.
