Preston Animate cinema reaches highest point in constructionAnnounced on air by Gaby Roslin during Wednesday’s Breakfast Show, the music festival is arriving in the city during Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September.No acts have yet been announced but the full line-up is due to be revealed in early June with tickets going on sale shortly after via the Radio 2 website.Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2, said: “I’m delighted that this year’s Radio 2 in the Park will take place in Preston.
Last year’s Radio 2 in the Park was headlined by Tears for Fears and Kylie Minogue, with further performances from Texas, James Blunt, Busted, Rick Astley and Simply Red.Adrian Phillips, chief executive of Preston City Council, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the BBC to Preston with Radio 2’s flagship live music event, Radio 2 In the Park.
