Six new guest editors will take over the Today programme between 24 December – 31 December
Professor Irene Tracey, Dwayne Fields, Sir Sajid Javid, Dame Laura Kenny, Baroness Floella Benjamin, Frank Cottrell-Boyce
Kicking off the distinguished Guest Editor series this year is the current Waterstones Children’s Laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce. His programme on Christmas Eve will explore the role reading can play in shaping children’s lives and will look at what happens to a child’s brain when they are read to. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Professor Irene Tracey’s guest edit will be broadcast on 28 December. Professor Tracey, a neuroscientist, will take hope and kindness as a theme as she reflects on her own research field in understanding and treating pain, and the broader role that Universities play in society.
