A TV insider told The Sun: It’s been three years since the BBC announced it was making this drama . . . and there’s been a fierce response from victims. Most dramas don’t take this long to edit and air, but they don’t want to put a foot wrong.”The show was first announced in 2020 and as part of the announcement, the show's executive producer, Jeff Pope, saids: "I think this is a story that has to be told.
"We must understand why a man like Jimmy Savile seemed to remain immune for so long to proper scrutiny and criminal investigation." The BBC also said it would work "closely" with people who were affected by Jimmy Savile to make sure the show was sensitive to them. They said the show would focus on his early years, his BBC career and the period towards the end of his life when he "sought to dispel the growing rumours about his life".Read Next:
