It’s worth noting that King said this about Robay: “She finds a way to draw people out. She can’t help it and you can’t help but oblige — whether you’re a writer, a hermit or a five-star celebrity, because Robay has the power to make people feel seen.” “I think I went into my career because I was naturally curious. But I didn't recognize the transformative power of questions until I used them in my own life. And I thought to myself, I want this for everybody else — this is a superpower.

We can even take this a step further: imagine carrying this deck of cards with you to a networking event, as a cheat sheet for great questions. After all, a meaningful question can serve as an even more powerful tool than a business card. “Today, you could get 10 business cards from someone, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll remember the person,” Robay shares.

At the end of the day, you can easily find someone's email or their social media handles, and reach out to them — no business card needed. But you can’t fabricate a moment — the moment of connection that helps lead to follow-up conversations via email or LinkedIn, for example. When you dig up their email, you can refer back to your conversation and say, “I spoke to you about ...”
