Victim impact statement says attack had detrimental effect on injured party's mental health and she is in “constant fear of bumping into her ex”
A 43-year old man who attacked his ex-wife with a baseball bat after finding her “together” with a taxi driver was spared jail today .
Jackson was no longer living in the marital home, but that evening he had let himself in and was upstairs when his ex-wife arrived home. He had been drinking and whilst lying upstairs with the lights out, he heard noises coming from the living room. The father-of-three told police he had hit both the taxi driver and his wife and while he arrested, his two victims were taken to hospital.
Describing the statement as “articulate and heartfelt”, Judge Ramsey said the attack has had a detrimental effect on her mental health and she is in “constant fear of bumping into her ex”.
