The 43-year-old has been given just months to live
A mum-of-two has said she hopes to book a dream holiday to Donegal after she received a terminal cancer diagnosis.
Liathán O'Donnchadha, from Moyard in West Belfast, was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the vagina on her 42nd birthday last year. And in a devastating blow, she was told her health had deteriorated even further, just months after celebrating the "all clear" with her children Eireann, 10, and five-year-old Lochlann.
The 43-year-old was given just months to live, which sparked a major fundraising effort to help her spend quality time with her family, including her bucket list holiday.This week, Liathán shared the news that an MRI scan had returned results better than she had expected. "The results came through yesterday and I was so afraid and nervous. But I got the best news of my life - the tumour in my lungs isn't growing as fast as it originally was.Over £13,000 has been raised so far, for Liathán and her children to make special memories. Speaking to Belfast Live on Wednesday, Liathán said she has been blown away by support.
