'I understand what it's like to be afraid. To feel like you have nowhere to go'
Kerry Crockett was just 24 years old when a "guardian angel" anonymously referred her to the Shankill Women's Centre.
"I think I just felt really at home when I came here [to the Centre.] I had people who genuinely cared, which I think is what I really needed at that time. It helped me get through it, and [The Centre] gave me the strength to get through a lot of the things that were happening to me." "Everyone was really kind, and patient. The other young women genuinely took an interest in me, and very quickly cared about what was going on in my life and would've spoken to me outside the classes as well. I developed some really good friendships."
"It does not matter where you come from. It does not matter what you've been through. They will be there for you. They will never turn you away or let you leave this Centre feeling worse than when you came in."
