In the midst of many brands issuing statements in support of Black Lives Matter, Ben & Jerrys' statement stood out in a big way. The ice cream maker posted a blog this week detailing a four-step plan towards anti-racism action in the United States and reaffirming its commitment to speaking out against injustices toward Black people in America.
"The murder of George Floyd was the result of inhumane police brutality that is perpetuated by a culture of white supremacy," the post read:"What happened to George Floyd was not the result of a bad apple; it was the predictable consequence of a racist and prejudiced system and culture that has treated Black bodies as the enemy from the beginning."
