Black Roman Catholics in the U.S. look for actions, not just words, from church leaders on racial justice. They want the church to fight racism with the same zeal it shows in opposing abortion.

“We’ve begun with the listening sessions, hearing the very painful stories of people who’ve been victims of racism within the church and without,” McCloud said.
