The winner replaces outgoing mayor Paul Voelker, who was appointed to serve as mayor in 2015.

In 2019, DePuy was elected to the Richardson City Council, where she represented Place 3 and served as mayor pro tem. Dubey was elected to Place 1 on the Richardson city council in 2017.As a council member, athletic director and football coach, Dubey, 68, has deep roots in Richardson. He has held additional roles as chairman of the Richardson Parks and Recreation Commission, City Charter Review Commission and other city committees.

Continuing to improve and fund infrastructure and monitor progress on short-term rentals were among the items on Dubey’s platform, according to his campaign website.The News . “I did not put anything critical toward my opponent in any shape, form or fashion. So I can honestly say that if I win, it’s a blessing, and I’m so honored to represent the city of Richardson. If she wins, I wish her the best of luck, and I hope and pray that our citizens and our city benefit from whatever she chooses to do.”

Prior to joining the council, DePuy, 74, spent 10 years on the city’s Plan Commission, where she gained experience on development, land use and zoning policies. She is a Richardson representative on the Regional Transportation Council, North Central Texas Council of Governments and Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition.
