The architect of the Golden State Warriors dynasty is stepping down.
Warriors president of basketball operations and general manager Bob Myers is leaving the team, he told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.Stephen Curry hugs Bob Myers after the Warriors defeated the Kings 120-100 in game seven of the Western Conference First Round Playoffs at Golden 1 Center on April 30, 2023.Myers helped lead the Warriors to four NBA titles and twice won the NBA’s Executive of the Year award.
He was originally hired as an assistant GM in 2011 and was quickly promoted to general manager in 2012. One of Myers’ key moves was bringing in Steve Kerr as head coach, who helmed the Warriors’ 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022 championship teams.
