The sad discovery was made after a frantic overnight search
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Forth and Clyde canal, near Firhill Road, after police received reports of a concern for a person at 11.30pm on Saturday evening .
An urgent overnight search was carried out before the body of a local man was pulled from the water at around 9.20am on Sunday.Police enquiries remain ongoing, however they believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023, officers received a report of concern for a person at the Forth and Clyde canal, near Firhill Road, Glasgow."Around 9.20am on Sunday, June 4, 2023, the body of a man was recovered from the water.
