Sunday, May 22, 2022.The body of a 15-year-old boy missing since Saturday afternoon was found Sunday morning at the Great Notch Reservoir in Woodland Park, officials confirmed to NJ Advance Media.
Additional information on the boy’s identity was not disclosed “out of respect for the family,” the mayor said. Friends of the 15-year-old told officers who arrived on the scene that they were “cliff jumping” when the boy jumped into the water but was unable to swim, Woodland Park Police Capt. Michael Brady told NJ Advance Media on Sunday. While the boy’s friends attempted to rescue him at the time, they “were being pulled down and were unable to secure the victim,” Brady added.
