Scientists suspect the meteorite, found in the Sahara several years ago, was knocked into space by an asteroid, then fell back to our planet

There are several problems with the hypothesis, however. Most concerning is that an asteroid large enough to knock rocks into space would leave a huge impact crater, and there are no known craters on the Earth that are both large enough and young enough to qualify.
