Scottish Boots shoppers will now be able to access a new private health service in select stores across the country.
Available to book online or in store for £15, the service is available for adults over the age of 18-years-old. Appointments will involve one of Boots' trained clinicians measuring a patient's blood pressure in both arms before thoroughly explaining the results with them. The rollout of the health service comes after the British heart Foundation found that up to 500,000 Scottish adults could be living with undiagnosed hypertension. It also found that about 50 percent of heart attacks and strokes in Scotland are related to high blood pressure.
Hypertension is a serious condition that forces the heart to consistently work harder to pump blood around the body. If left untreated, it can lead to serious circulatory diseases.
